iSAQB® IMPROVE Training - Advanced Level Module

Evolution and Improvement of Software Architectures

In the iSAQB® IMPROVE Evolution and Improvement of Software Architectures training, face-to-face training takes place in which short, medium and long-term solution strategies are developed, and typical approaches for optimization are shown, for example, restructuring & refactoring, optimization of analyzability, process optimization, improvement the technical infrastructure, optimization of quality properties, etc.

Software maintenance and evolution often suffer from low budgets and tight deadlines. In the IMPROVE iSAQB ® training, you will learn how to achieve a systematic improvement in your software under general conditions and obtain better protection for your investments. From us, you will learn ways and opportunities to find risks, problems, and weak points in the systems. We will also show you how you can evaluate the business benefit of your company's conspicuous points.

In this way, an improvement is made precisely where it is most worthwhile for your company. The iSAQB® IMPROVE training supports you in reconciling long-term architecture and code quality - with a short-term budget and time constraints. In this way, you can clear up technical debt in the long term and avoid the erosion of your architecture.

Trainers

Dr. Gernot Starke

Learning content of the training

  • Systematically separate problem analysis from problem-solving
  • Diverse analysis methods, including ATAM, context and data analysis, process and runtime analysis, software archaeology
  • Assessing the costs and consequences of problems and vulnerabilities
  • Assess the business value of refactorings, improvements, restructurings, and other changes
  • Methodical tools for the management of recognized problems, as well as solution options (improvement backlog)
  • Long-term development of optimizations (split, migration, managed evolution, big bang, strangulation, database first, database load, etc.)
  • Typical practices for structural as well as conceptual architecture optimizations
  • Approaches to improve processes and organization
  • Practical exercises and examples
